Push for more fairness? Oh, yeah, that works. Let's all lobby The Eighteen (the members of the Academy responsible for nominating and voting on the Nobel Prize in Literature) to look at more women's work. After all, a whole ONE-SIXTH of them are women, so surely they're interested in equal representation.

Or we could push for fairness by calling out the New York Times book reviewers for reviewing more work by men -- oh, wait, Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Weiner did that.

Or we can say, "Hey, we're not going to let a bunch of men pandering to other men be the exclusive arbiters of taste." THAT is how it helps.
