Lobby: Check Member Profiles

Member Profiles give you a quick way of finding out information about a user, such as gender, location, and hobbies. (Only the information that user wants to share is listed in the Profile.) You can also use the profiles to send e-mail or a private message to a user and to add a user to your Buddy List. Some users also include other contact information such as an ICQ address.

The link to Profiles is near the middle, in the tan section just above the light blue Conferences breadcrumb line, highlighted in the image below with a cursor. This link is available from both the Lobby and from the boards.

Member Profiles are housed on the User Profiles page. The left side of the page contains the profile index. Under Index/Icon Guide, click the letter, number, or character with which that member's name begins.

Then, from the list that appears on the right side of the page, click that member's name.

Once you have clicked the member's name, that member's user profile will appear on the right side of the screen. As you can see below, the icons providing quick links to send e-mail or a private message to that user or add that user to your Buddy List. The area underneath those icons displays information on that user.

Note: From the Lobby, you can also access profiles of any users who are currently online. To do this, simply use the Check who's online link on the top right of the Lobby. Click the Check Who's Online ink here to learn more. In the Who's Online area, on the right, in the tan area, there is a listing of members who've accessed the forum during the last hour. Click the Profile icon to the right of a user's name to check the profile of that user.
