This is what a moderator sees in Read Message mode:



The difference is the purple buttons, which are your moderator tools. You can delete a topic, moderate a topic, make the topic sticky, or lock the topic. Note that's for the entire thread.

At the bottom of the post, you have the option to edit, moderate, or delete just that post, leaving the remainder of the thread undisturbed.

In this image, you can see where the "Thank You" button is located -- that's in the same location for users and moderators.

For everybody, if you're editing a post, and the bottom of the post, you have a box where you can add your reason for editing.
