Maybe do a pseudo NaNo and put together your notes and develop the fantasy idea? My husband has "done" NaNo with me for the past few years but he doesn't even try for the 50k. His goal is just to get into the habit of writing...not daily, just writing. That way you can fulfill the need that calls to you but do so without welcoming the stress.

You should also consider joining the Camp NaNos if you haven't already. They're in April and July (I think) and you set your own goal.

Seriously not worth the stress, especially not on top of everything else you have going on, but you don't have to lock it away entirely either.
